Ayat. Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei’s views aligned with those of late Leader: Cleric
At a gathering in Mashhad, northeast Iran, a senior cleric said Ayat. Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei embodies the scholarly, ethical and political standards required for leadership, adding that his views have long aligned with those of the late Leader.

At a special program dubbed “Enlightenment Line” held at Parizad School near Imam Reza Shrine, Hoj. Mohammad Ali Rezaei Esfahani said: “Leadership in the Islamic Republic demands high scholarship, piety and courage”.
He added: “Ayat. Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei meets these qualities and many officials had long viewed his positions as consistent with those of the late Leader”. Rezaei Esfahani highlighted scholarly work, political apprenticeship, and simplicity of lifestyle.
“The new Leader avoided personal gain despite decades of being beside a father who served as president and then Leader”, the cleric continued.
He said no property has ever been registered under his name.
“The Constitution requires knowledge, justice and bravery for leadership, and the Assembly of Experts, composed of about eighty jurists, selected him based on these criteria”, he noted.
He stressed that members favored his scholarly, social and political background over other candidates.
“Ayat. Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei spent forty years in the seminaries of Tehran and Qom and taught advanced jurisprudence for nearly two decades”, Hoj. Rezaei Esfahani stated.
He went on to say that about 1,300 students had registered for his lessons in 2023 before he suspended classes to avoid affecting senior scholars.
Rezaei Esfahani said the new Leader had years of political apprenticeship and attended major military and political sessions.  “He also served on the battlefield from age seventeen, joining several operations.”
He recounted that members of the late Leader’s family stayed in their residence on the day of his assassination, describing it as a sign of courage.
The scholar concluded his remarks by saying: “Accepting leadership during conflict with multiple states and one superpower country shows his exceptional resolve”.
